On Father’s Day 5 years ago we sat down with Craigs whole family and announced that we were expecting Oli.
Since then a lot has changed, but one thing has always been the same – Craig has been the most wonderful & caring Father to our 2 children.
Happy Father’s Day to Craig and all the other wonderful Fathers out there today, have a marvellous day.
So a couple of weeks ago I was a very excited little human when I received an email from Mark Niemierko inviting me to his Valentines Day Brunch event. Excited, but also very conscious that I would firstly not be able to wear pyjamas, and secondly have to leave my office/bedroom. I first heard about Mark through Kat and then learnt more after reading his ‘Inspirations’ Post in the Green Room.
Regardless of my painful awkwardness, I left home last Thursday morning and headed to Belgraves Hotel in Belgravia. After initially walking in the complete opposite direction I re-headed and was horrified to arrive at about 10:32 – but luckily I avoided being reprimanded as I arrived at the ridiculously good-looking Thomson run hotel, and was greeted by ridiculously good-looking models/waiters/adonises and in turn introduced to the ridiculously good-looking Mark Niemierko himself.
(Yes, I took my chin along too.)
Champagne was frankly the order of the day for me, as well as wonderful brunch canapés and a mooch around one of the beautiful suites in the hotel – maybe ONE DAY, I will sleep there.
I caught up with some lovely humans I’d met before, most prolifically with Emily Fisher who is a possible kindred spirit and fellow hair crimper.
Booth Nation was on standby as no blogging rendezvous would be complete without a Photobooth! Mark claimed “this
booth never takes a bad photo. Of anyone!” But I’m afraid to say that is a GIANT LIE, as proven by me – although I’m afraid the photograph above was my second attempt. I just can’t bring myself to share the first, but believe me when I say even my husband looked a little bit sick when I showed it to him.
The adorable cupcakes were baked by the wonderful May Clee-Cadman of Maisie Fantasie and equally delectable was May herself.
All in all, it was a total blast. I can safely say I am almost completely in love with Mark, which I think means he wins Valentines Day.

Well… I kind of sucked at taking photos this week. It’s been a wild week!
So in the absence of instagrams I will shamelessly recap my exciting news this week – I opened my shop properly! Remember you can get a 20% discount on your order until midnight tonight when you enter the code SUPERNEWTHINGS and spend £5, get to it!
I also blogged about Photoshop and how awesome Pugly Pixel is.
And enjoyed raiding my spam filter. It was a real self-esteem boost I can tell you.
I’ve done a little more website maintenance so it’s gradually getting there, sorry it’s been very neglected for a long time, the amount of missing images makes me blush.
And along with that I’ve got a brand spanking new About Me Page – I find writing about me really, really difficult, so this marks a long time spent deleting and re-writing the same thing, what do you think?
Right well, it has been completely mad here for a few weeks. For those that I haven’t moaned to on twitter or email already – we moved out of our old flat at the end of October, and didn’t move into our new flat until last Friday – so we have been “borrowing” my poor Grandmothers house for the last few weeks and have been living in a bit of a mad limbo.
Finally, we are in our beautiful new flat, near the childrens school, and finally we can get back into a bit of a routine again, and most importantly for me, as a homebody – get properly settled down.
So now I have no excuse, I won’t be a stranger…. Happy Friday everyone.
Sorry I have been a bit blogging failure recently, I’ve just been chasing my tail for the last few weeks and now thanks to my lovely husband I’ve had a chance to really get on top of things. We put our flat on the market on Friday and today it has been rented, so now we have until October 26th to find somewhere to move into so my organisation may not last long but it’s an exciting time!
If you missed this give away then be sure to check it out and pass it on to anyone you think might like it.
