Champagne in the Morning… Valentines Day with Mr. N

So a couple of weeks ago I was a very excited little human when I received an email from Mark Niemierko inviting me to his Valentines Day Brunch event. Excited, but also very conscious that I would firstly not be able to wear pyjamas, and secondly have to leave my office/bedroom. I first heard about Mark through Kat and then learnt more after reading his ‘Inspirations’ Post in the Green Room.

Regardless of my painful awkwardness, I left home last Thursday morning and headed to Belgraves Hotel in Belgravia. After initially walking in the complete opposite direction I re-headed and was horrified to arrive at about 10:32 – but luckily I avoided being reprimanded as I arrived at the ridiculously good-looking Thomson run hotel, and was greeted by ridiculously good-looking models/waiters/adonises and in turn introduced to the ridiculously good-looking Mark Niemierko himself.

(Yes, I took my chin along too.)
Champagne was frankly the order of the day for me, as well as wonderful brunch canapés and a mooch around one of the beautiful suites in the hotel – maybe ONE DAY, I will sleep there.

I caught up with some lovely humans I’d met before, most prolifically with Emily Fisher who is a possible kindred spirit and fellow hair crimper.

Booth Nation was on standby as no blogging rendezvous would be complete without a Photobooth! Mark claimed “this
booth never takes a bad photo. Of anyone!” But I’m afraid to say that is a GIANT LIE, as proven by me – although I’m afraid the photograph above was my second attempt. I just can’t bring myself to share the first, but believe me when I say even my husband looked a little bit sick when I showed it to him.

The adorable cupcakes were baked by the wonderful May Clee-Cadman of Maisie Fantasie and equally delectable was May herself.
All in all, it was a total blast. I can safely say I am almost completely in love with Mark, which I think means he wins Valentines Day.
